Gas siphoning destroys U-Haul trucks (The Desert Sun)

Three U-Haul trucks were destroyed by fire inside a gated storage area near Ramon Road and Landau Boulevard early this morning, possibly after someone tried to siphon gas.

I’ll be honest. It is messed up to steal gas from anyone but we all mess up at some point in our lives and do things that we wish we could change. Our ecomony is so fragile and alot of people are unfortunately being pushed against the wall just to be able to survive. Forget gas-siphoning equipment. Brian McCarthy says gas thieves have a new tool -- cordless drills. McCarthy has been targeted before by diesel thieves. Yesterday, his truck was running on empty and his gas tank had a precision-drilled hole in it.
